MIAMI, Jun 09, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- FiberLight, a leading optical network solutions provider, announced it has pulled its fiber diversely into ColoHouse, Miami's newest premier data center, to offer domestic and international customers a cost-effective optical networking choice when they collocate with ColoHouse.
"ColoHouse is a well designed facility, as they offer an ultra-secure environment and N+1 redundancy, which mean customers have an added layer of security outside of the 5 9's reliability we offer on our fully redundant network," said FiberLight President Kevin B. Coyne. "Working with ColoHouse has enabled us to further extend our reach into Miami, and because our network runs adjacent to many of South Florida's international cable landing stations, we are able to easily interconnect to the international carriers and clients coming into the U.S. as well as provide a diverse path throughout the U.S. outside of the current facility that houses most of the routes."
ColoHouse's 48,000 square foot, Category 5 protected facility in Miami is built to withstand hurricanes. Industry-specific technical expertise was used in the facility design and provides customer savings through the use of more energy-efficient electrical and air-conditioning systems, said Jeff Koppes, CEO of ColoHouse.
"Whether it's disaster recovery, a rack, cabinet, cage space or a cross connect our customers need, we can offer the latest technological innovations and world class reliability to ensure business continuity," Mr. Koppes said. "Additionally, we are able to pass on value pricing achieved through smart growth and reduced energy costs, so our customers can secure space at a lower cost than they would pay elsewhere."
FiberLight's partnership with ColoHouse provides clients with optical connectivity to over 20 high-bandwidth carrier hotels, data centers and cable landing stations, as well as hundreds of commercial and government buildings on and around its greater than 300-mile South Florida network. FiberLight's network stretches from downtown Miami to North Palm Beach in fully redundant rings.
